Capt Bill Billson has been involved in the marine industry all his life, He is a fully qualified Marine Engineer, and had two successful workshops based in Sydney, during the early stages of his business life. Bills success as a sport fishing charter boat operator arguably has been unprecedented in this country, and is still going strong after 20 years.
He totally refitted his early boat, the 40ft custom woodnutt Viking, and was the principal for the building of his current boat the 46ft Assegai Woodnutt Viking 11. Holding USL Code qualifications as a Master Class IV and MED 1 with refrigeration endorsement, he is astute with all aspects of a vessel in construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and electronics.

For those who are not familiar with the work of unsung hero Dick Ward, he is the builder of Cairns boats Kannahoee, Desperado, ( now Tradition ) Moana, and the Pirate range of boats. These boats are built using the latest Diab Divincell core, Multi directional, epoxy vacuum bagged glass construction method. Dick in he’s early years was also involved with the construction of famous Cairns boats Avalon, Kirsten, and Kingfish.
